I Just Like To Make Things

When I saw this book at the book store I had to buy it because never has a title described how I feel so perfectly! Looking forward to reading it.

Herringbone Knit Socks

I have a lot of unfinished knitting projects, like these socks. The herringbone stitch is so fun to knit, especially with a variegated yarn. The pattern is from a book called Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn. The yarn I'm using is Patons Kroy in Winter Eclipse.

Cable Knit Blanket

I'm slowly making progress on a cable knit blanket I started a few years ago. It is the perfect project to work on when it starts getting to -20 or colder because it keeps me so toasty warm as I knit. The yarn I am using is Patons Shetland Chunky in Rich Teal.

How I Use Washi Tape

Some of my friends are confused by my obsession with washi tape because they have no idea what use it serves. Then I show them my planner. I use a Moleskine professional folio. It's basically a planner without dates so you can customize each page to be a day or a week or month. When I first bought this Moleskine, I started off using it with a specific purpose in mind that I soon abandoned for reasons I forget but it probably had something to do with glitter. Then a planner obsessed friend showed me pics of filofaxes she was finding filled with washi tape and stickers. I instantly wanted all the filofaxes in the world. But, with my tendency to get distracted by glitter, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on another planner that I would potentially abandon. That's when I decided to repurpose my Moleskine and washi tape was the perfect way to cover anything else I had previously written in it.
